School Response Bag (SRB)

This bag represents a comprehensive and affordable approach to bleeding control, designed specifically for schools and public places. It provides "non-traditional" lay responders (i.e. teachers and other individuals without extensive medical training) with a full set of supplies that give them the means and ability to stop life-threatening bleeding and treat major injuries. In addition to eight Individual Response Kits, the main compartment holds four 10" x 30" trauma dressings and eight First Aid Modules for treatment of lesser injuries. Four CPR Masks are located in the small front pocket, and 30 pairs of nitrile gloves (10 pairs each in size Medium, Large and XL) are in the large front pocket. Side pockets contain ten casualy cards with safety pins, plus four full sized pairs of EMT Shears.

The School Response Bag (SRB) was developed in cooperation with the Central Georgia’s Region F Healthcare Preparedness Coalition and the Region 5 Regional Trauma Advisory Council for a school preparedness initiative. Only minimal training is required for the use of any components, making this kit fully functional in multiple casualty  situations where professional first response may be delayed.
